The artist

Stéphane Billon-Grand, metal sculptor

Presentation

I am a self-taught metal sculptor based in Vizille, near Grenoble. Through my « Métal d'eau » workshop, I develop an artistic universe where metal becomes a tool to raise awareness of aquatic biodiversity, from wetlands to oceans.

Statement of intent

My work stages the species that inhabit these environments - insects, amphibians, fish, birds and aquatic mammals - in sculptures that question our relationship with life and the ecosystems we depend on. Through steel, I seek to reveal the beauty, fragility and strength of this often overlooked biodiversity.

Artistic approach

Passionate about aquatic environments and the fragile balance of life, I shape each sculpture into a unique piece. Through steel, I want to question our relationship with the living world and recall, in my own way, the urgency of preserving how our planet works.
